Aleff Institute was founded to fill the gap in academically rich and culturally informed Farsi instruction that is conscious of and celebrates the fullness of the Persianate world and its various dialects. The classes emphasize formal grammar and vocabulary while maintaining the application and appreciation of the nuances in various dialects such as Kabuli, Tehrani, Herati, etc. This also offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for individuals with heritage in Afghanistan and Tajikistan in particular, and those in the Iranian diaspora who'd want to engage with formal grammar and dialects. Our students do not need to be heritage speakers and we've had students from all backgrounds.
